Baptism memory box 2 . Pamiątka Chrztu Świetego nr 2.

Once again I have to say sorry for a long silence.
The truth is I was working on a few projects at once which was rather hard for me. Right now I almost finished all of them so I hope to post more often at least for sometime. ;)

Today I am showing you a new memory box made for my customer in a very short time. Probably the shortest time I have ever made anything in miniature up till now. ;)

The story is a lady asked me to sell Blue Rhapsody (which kind of made me sad, lol) but she said she wanted it to be a baptism memory box, so I suggested that I could made her one specially for this occasion.
 

For a week or two she couldn't make her mind and then we determined all details and then some items arrived really late, all of that left me no more than 4 days to make the interior of the latern and send it ready to her.

Since I had no time to order some miniatures - not to mention to make them myself - I had to use a few miniatures I'd got from my friends sometimes ago. I hope they don't mind it and will like the interior of this little nursery anyway. I have to say:  miniatures I chose suit there perfectly. :)

 
It of course doesn't mean I didn't do anything there! :D I made a floor, wall, curtains, bed covering and canopy, diapers, towels, little white dress, grand bouquet of roses, painted all the furniture (some roses too), bunnies etc.

I am glad I could find a lamp for this project in one of the very popular interior shop. The lamp is not in 1/12 scale, but it was easy to hide, easy to switch on and off and it gives warm yellow light my customer wanted. :)

I actually didn't have time to become attached to this finished lantern and managed only to take a few photos  so that I could show you and remember what I made, lol.

No i znowu przychodzi mi przepraszać za długie milczenie. Powodem była praca nad paroma sporymi zamówieniami na raz co, muszę przyznać, nie było dla mnie, pracującej samej, takie proste. Ale mogę obiecać, że będę częściej publikować posty, przynajmniej przez jakiś czas. ;)

Ten projekt powstał w całe 4 dni, bo najpierw Klientka się wahała, potem ustalałyśmy szczegóły, później kurier z paroma istotnymi rzeczami spóźnił się o cały weekend i tym sposobem - ponieważ miałam przygotować pamiątkę na określoną datę - zostały mi 4 dni do przygotowania całego wyposażenia latarenki.
Mimo tego, że tym razem nie zrobiłam do niej żadnego mebelka, pracy było nie mało. Do latarenki zrobiłam: podłogę, ścianę, zasłonki, pościel, "baldachim" ręczniki, pieluszki, sukienkę, wielki bukiet róż, malowałam meble, króliki itd.

Cieszę się, że udało mi się znaleźć lampkę, która nie będąc w skali 1/12 wpasowała się idealnie do latarenki i daje ładne żółte światło, a do tego bardzo łatwo można ją włączyć i wyłączyć. :)

W tym krótkim czasie udało mi się zrobić parę fotek latarenki na pamiątkę.

To właśnie był jeden z powodów mojej nieobecności na blogu. Trochę mi czasu to zamówienie zajęło. Cieszę się bardzo, że trafi do Klientki w Polsce.:)

New pieces of furniture. Nowe meble.

Today's post no 3.;)

Actually one is new and one is not, kind of. ;)

So the new piece is a rocking swan in 1/12 scale. As usual inspired by real life piece I saw on the photo.

And this one is no 2 of this side table. Only now it is a bit wider and higher than the previous one.

This is commissioned piece. I repainted it so many times! Need to figure out easier method. ;) Hope the new owner will like it once she gets it!

Post nr 3.

Tak właściwie to jeden mebelek jest nowy a drugi nie do końca. ;)

Nowy jest łabędź na biegunach - inspiracja prawdziwym modelem dla dzieci. Ten oczywiście jest zaprojektowany i ręcznie zrobiony przeze mnie.

Drugi mebelek to numer 2 tego stoliczka. Tym razem jest nieco wyższy i szerszy.
Dość długo nie mogłam dojść do ładu z malowaniem, chyba muszę wymyślić jakąś prostszą metodę. Ten stoliczek był robiony na zamówienie. Mam nadzieję, że spodoba się Klientce jak już dostanie go z całym zamówieniem. :)

"Sisters". "Siostry".

This is what I've been making lately.
Called this post "sisters" as a wardrobe is "she" in Polish.;) Their shape had been chosen by customer.

They are in 1:6 scale. Quite big. The work in this scale is similar but also very different. First of all one piece needs a lot of supplies: a lot of wood, a lot f wood stain etc. And a lot of hours of work. 

Not sure if I want to make anything more in this scale yet. Surely I prefer to make smaller pieces.:)
Anyway I hope customer will like them, fingers crossed!

A to właśnie jest to, nad czym pracowałam ostatnio. Skala 1:6. Spora. Praca niby podobna jak przy 1:12, a jednak inna. Dużo większe zużycie materiałów, nawet na jedną szafę, i mnóstwo pracy. Tak czy inaczej mam nadzieję, że będą się podobały Klientce na żywo.

Baptism Memory Box. Pamiątka Chrztu Świętego

So, this just went to the customer and on Sunday it will be given to the parents of a little girl named Veronica. :) Hope they all will like it.

Commissioned Baptism Memory Box has everything we need in Poland for baptism, you will find there:
- a candle that is always lit during the baptism ceremony as a light of the Holy Spirit,
- a white dress which is a symbol of being sinless God's child
- and a bouquet of white flowers that usually is given to the child by all guests.
Most of the things you see inside is hand made by me.
Ah, yes! You can find finally dressed up cradle there.:)

And there is a light!

Pamiątka Chrztu Świętego wykonana na zamówienie, już odebrana przez klienta, a w niedzielę mała Weronika zostanie nią obdarowana. Mam  nadzieję, że i jej i jej rodzicom się spodoba. Pamiątka zawiera w sobie symbole chrztu - białą świecę, białą szatkę, bukiet białych kwiatów.  I oczywiście moją pierwszą kołyskę! No i jest tam też lampka. ;)

1820, around. 1820, około.

It's sometimes funny when I start working on something and suddenly I notice on your blogs you have just finished or just are working on the same thing.;) This is what happened to me when I've started working on small commission: a souvenir of baptism.
Oh, maybe it's just me paying more attention to the topic? Anyway I was and am admiring your works concerning newborn babies.:)

From the very beginning I wanted to put a cradle inside lantern and even bought one from DHE, tried also one from my Chinese kits but they both have too wide slades and were taking too much space in a small lantern.

Quite suddenly I bought a fantastic book: "Biedermeier, a guide for collectors". The book published in Poland is full of great photos of furniture of early XIX century made in Europe. I am amazed by their beauty although I think some people may say some pieces look too heavy.
Nonetheless for me it is a great book and source of new ideas and I have found a solution to my-lantern-lack-of-space there.:)

In the book there is a small photo of a cradle from around 1820, made in Germany (waves to Brigit:);)) and worth now around 700euro on the antiques market. Okay, that's not too much for an antique market, I think.;)

Since I loved it's shape I decided to try to make it small enough to fit in my lantern.
Here is the result.

According to my growing knowledge about cradles lately, ;) I know the way it hangs is most certainly not an original way of making cradle moving, but since the book's photo was my basic I made it exactly the same way.

 As the books says all beds, childrens and adults had a canopy to protect sleeping ones from cold and insects. My cradle could only have a light, transparent curtains of lace.:)

Here is the part I don't really like.;) Making the beddings...

Hope you like my little cradle. It's also my first piece with "high-shine" surfaces, without using a glass paint.;)

Czasem to aż zabawne: zaczynam pracować nad jakimś miniaturowym tematem i nagle wszyscy pracują nad tym samym! Och, być może to tylko ja zauważam więcej rzeczy w "moim" temacie.;) Tak czy siak, jak tylko zaczęłam pracę nad pamiątką dla chrześniaka/śnicy nagle się okazało, że połowa bloglandu albo zaczęła właśnie prace w temacie małych dzieci albo kończy!:)

Od początku miałam w zamyśle wstawienie do latarenki kołyski, jednak nawet specjalnie w tym celu kupiona z DHE, jak i z chińskiego zestawu okazały się mieć za szerokie płozy i zwyczajnie nie mieściły się we wnętrzu.

Z pomocą przyszła mi fantastyczna książka Joanny Woch: Biedermeier, przewodnik dla kolekcjonerów, którą jak to teraz "mówią" nabyłam drogą kupna w jednej z moich ulubionych gdyńskich księgarni. Książka zawiera mnóstwo pięknych, kolorowych fotografii mebli z początku XIX wieku. Meble są urocze, choć pewnie niektórzy mogliby powiedzieć, że szafy czy sekretarzyki z tego okresu wyglądają bardzo masywnie. Niemniej dla mnie ta książka to źródło nieustających inspiracji i tam też znalazłam rozwiązanie mojego problemu-zbyt-małej-przestrzeni-w-latarence.;)

Na jednej z fotografii pokazano kołyskę z roku około 1820, zrobioną w Niemczech, a na rynku kolekcjonerskim wartą jakieś 700 euro. Tak bardzo spodobał mi się jej kształt, że postanowiłam ją zbudować w takiej wielkości, żeby spokojnie mieściła się w latarence.:)

Moja rosnąca w szybkim czasie wiedza na temat kołysek;) mówi mi, że sposób zawieszenia jej nie jest tym oryginalnym, ponieważ jednak zdjęcie stanowiło dla mnie podstawę, zrobiłam je takie, jak na nim.

Zgodnie z tym, co jest napisane w książce wszystkie łóżka, i dziecięce i dla dorosłych miały baldachimy chroniące śpiących przed zimnem i insektami. Moja kołyska ma tylko przejrzystą zasłonkę z koronki.:)

Na ostatnim zdjęciu to, co najmniej lubię: praca nad pościelą.;)

Pretties in White. Piękności w Bieli.

Some of you must have seen them already.:)
Yesssss that was Me who emailed very very very talented Ilona asking if she could be interested in making them for me! Whenever she shows her flowers to us I am amazed by the details, colours and the fact that they look very real.:) So imagine my thrill when Ilona wrote to me she accepted my order! I couldn't wait! I knew they would be fantastic but when I saw them on her pictures I ...couldn't find the right words to desribe them! I mean how many times you can repeat just: beautiful, fantastic, pretty?;) And oh yes! I was so greedy that when she showed me 3 stems I wanted them all!!! Okay, I have to admit I am a bit crazy fan of orchids I would love to have all of their kinds 1:1 scale home but unfortunately the only kind that survives on my window sill for long time is phalaenopsis...

Today little orchids arrived!  I carefuly  opened beautifully and safely made box and saw them. My jaw dropped and when I picked it up I couldn't stop smiling.:) These pretties are here! Outstanding! Extraordinary and so beautiful and so fragile...

And they brought pretty gifts with them! See this teeny tiny perfume bottle? I don't know how you can make such a small bottle, dear Ilona. And these pretty love letters? And the orchid painting? And these two orchid flowers to adorn bride's hair?

And this is my first ever bag from a famous designer!;)

To prove I am crazy-orchid-fan I will show you "my" orchids so far. In miniature of course!:)

These pretties in white-blue pots are a gift from dear Sans and I know I am showing you them a little too late but they were just waiting for a special occassion.;)
I am slowly thinking of making a little orchidarium or greenhouse for all of them. And I hope my collection of mini-orchids will grow in time.;)

Myślę, że niektórzy z Was zdążyli je już zobaczyć na blogu Ilony.:) Zawsze podziwiam jej prace, a najbardziej właśnie kwiaty, które w tej mini skali wyglądają jak żywe. Kiedy więc zaakceptowała moje zamówienie nie mogłam się doczekać.:) Kiedy zobaczyłam je na zdjęciach brakowało mi słów, a kiedy dziś je rozpakowałam, to mi po prostu szczęka z wrażenia opadła.;) Są prześliczne, niesamowicie realistyczne i bardzo delikatne. Wzbogaciły moją niedużą kolekcję storczyków w skali 1:12.:) Jak widać na fotkach dostałam też urocze prezenty, w tym moją pierwszą w życiu torebkę od Guccie'go.;) Storczyki w biało-niebieskich doniczkach są prezentem od Sans.:) Powoli  zaczynam myśleć z czego zrobić orchidarium lub szklarenkę dla nich.:) No i mam nadzieję, że moja kolekcja mini storczyków będzie rosła, bo prawdziwe storczyki poza phalaenopsisem nie chcą u mnie rosnąć...

Two (very)Small Projects. Dwa Malutkie Projekty.

This one was for my Dad's Birthday - he always dreams about bonsai, but somehow they never survive for too long here.;) So this one should live longer, I hope!

This is a little cypress tree that I trimmed to look like a grown up miniature tree. I did feel like a murderer when I was cutting it's twigs out... Guess I couldn't be a real gardener.;)

 Anyway there is also a real moss around the tree - you shoud see me digging out through the snow to find it, lol! Two other little trees are cones painted green. The stones and  yellow gravel (there was no white, lol) are from the aquarium store. The chair is a "champagne one".:)


The other project is a little commissioned lantern.

Still in progress, but as you can see it already has a wallpaper, floor and shelf,

 curtains and some butterflies,

 
and some accessories ready.

Jeden dla mojego Taty - małe cyprysowe bonsai.;) Mam nadzieję, że postoi u nas dłużej niż każde inne.;) Trochę mnie bolało jak przycinałam mu gałązki... Chyba nie mogłabym być ogrodnikiem takim na cały etat... Mech wygrzebałam spod śniegu.;) Ale kamyczki i żwirek są ze sklepu - niestety nie było białego.;) Małe drzewka po bokach to szyszki. Krzesełko z szampana.:)
Drugi to małe zlecenie, wciąż w trakcie, ale ma już tapetę, podłogę, firanki, półeczkę, motylki i różne takie tam akcesoria.:)
