An embroidery stand no 2. Stolik do haftu nr 2.

So in reference to my first post about embroidery stands by G.F Kersting here is no 2(which actually should be no 1 according to his paintings. ;))

This is more "stand" for me than previous one, as this one consists of two pair of legs and an embroidery frame which is the only part that bonds legs together.

On the first painting of G.F Kersting only  you can see how the canvas is attached to the frame so I made it seen too (but of course I forgot to make the thread straight when taking pictures...)

This time I also made frame a bit shorter than legs but I think one that is as long as legs(like the first one I made) looks just better.

The embroidery is a faux one as I am (kind of lazy ;)) not as patient and not as half as gifted as many of our cross stiching Friends are.

Hope you will like the embroidery stand no 2. :)

A new piece of furniture and a story of a painting. Historia pewnego obrazu i nowy mebelek.

Some of you may know by now that I am often inspired by the photos of real life's furniture and I try to make them in miniature as close to original as I can.

This time it was exactly the same.

I saw this painting in one of my books and wanted to make it in miniature. This is Georg Freidrich Kersting The Embroiderer which hangs in National Museum in Warsaw, Poland.

I had never seen this kind of embroidery stands before and I found it so interesting I had to make it in miniature.;) This is the result of my work. :)

As I was to post about it on my website I had to look for the picture of the painting on internet. And then I got totally surprised as I learnt this painting I have in my book was not the only one of the same title that G.F.Kerstig painted!
He painted in a way the same painting in 1812,

 1817

 and 1827.

The funny thing is there are a few differences in every painting but you can't deny it was the same painter. ;)

I hope you will like my first embroidery stand. I am seriously thinking of making also number 2 and 3 based on the two other paintings. ;)

Little "Vespa".;) Mała "Vespa".;)

When I found it I had to have it. Not sure what to do next with it but I knew it could be useful one day.:) The day has come.;) I painted it blue and put it into memory box or suitcase.;) Anyway this is another sneak peak of a give-away that will start tomorrow on my blog and on Sloneczne Godziny Facebook fan page.:) Hope you will like it!

Botanical Posters

I follow Kassandra's Miniatures Blog for some time now. It's one of the blogs I really like, also because it was full of witches and gothic minis. Lately there is more about absinthe's mniatures, still very interesting.:) I like Vanessa's idea about miniature absinthe's fountain you can see in her Etsy shop. Althought I have never tried this alcohol I bought a little something connected to this drink. There are three botanical posters of the plants often called by the fans of absinthe "the holy trinity".

These are: grande wormwood, green anise and florence fennel - doesn't sound tasty, does it?;) The posters have been printed on real parchment paper. As much as I love miniature's printies I couldn't just leave them there.;) And now they are here.:)

Thank you so much Vanessa!
Do go and see Vanessa's blog and Etsy shop!:)

The Snape's library is slowly growing!

Yesterday my purchases from TreeFeathers Etsy shop arrived!

Grace Griffin the shop's owner and the book maker has kindly added these beautiful drawings as "thank-you" for me. Aren't they charming?:) The close-ups of the Magic Books Set.

And a fab book of shadows! Love the cover!:D

Grace Griffin's blog is named TreeFeathers Life in Miniature and here is the link to her website. Do go there and see as she has much more than magical books only! ;)
