After a year and a half I have dared to try painting a doll's face again... I do hope none of you remebers my
awful "make-ups" for two dolls which took part in Minidolllist's Grand Astoria Hotel Project, lol!
I know they were awful...I wasn't able to try again having them constantly in front of my eyes, lol!
Finally I've decided to give it a try. Not wanting to paint it too strong I used pastels. Here is the result so far....
Yes I know...the dried flowers are so dried they just crumble out themselves...
Of course this is not a permanent make-up but I am really curious about your opinion of it, please.:)

Hi Ewa,
I think she looks perfect :) you should'nt be so hard on yourself when it comes to painting a dolls face practice makes perfect and most importantly we learn from mistakes, but i think in this case you have made an excellent job.
Best wishes for the New Year. Tony
It looks very nice to me, particularly how you've highlighted the cheekbones :)
You did a fine job. I love her make-up! It looks natural and elegant.
Hugs, Drora
Your doll looks gorgeous, and so realistic! Beautiful work, Ewa! I'm quite impressed! xo Jennifer
You've done a great job, it's a perfect make-up, not too much and exactly the thing for a woman who has style and class. I like especially the lips... don't be afraid anymore of painting faces, you can do it... and you can do it great!
Hugs
Birgit
Ja będę podziwiać kształt kości policzkowych lalki. Ma też ładny profil. Każdy kto maluje oczy tak małym lalkom/figurkom jest dla mnie mistrzem.
I like this lady; she's enchanting.
Bye Faby
Dear Ewa, I think she looks Really Lovely! But I am not an expert of any sort about make-up, mini or otherwise!!! I think you are doing very well with your dolls! I have only made a couple of "older" type dolls, and I really don't know what I am doing as far as painting their features goes! It is something I will need to study up on... if I make any more dolls...! I suspect there are all sorts of tricks to painting them... glazes and things like that ... and it depends on what the original material is! I have heard of people painting their BJD's faces... but those are usually resin or a kind of plastic??? She how much I Don't know about this?
Anyway, I think your doll looks lovely!!!
ewa,I think she looks natural and i like it.May be you'll have to touch it up in order tomake it permanent but I grant you that you have been brave at trying it and you have done it well.
Hugs,Ro
I agree, she is looking fine. We are our own worst critic. Lighten up on yourself and create.
Thank you very much Tony! All the encouragement is highly appreciated!;) Thank you!
Big hug
Shaairah thank you! The cheekobones were easy as the doll hav them very nicely shown.:)

Kształt twarzy nie jest moją zasługą, to mold Annemarie Kwikkel.:)
Thank you so much Faby!

Thank you very much Betsy! I am absolutely sure that whenever you'll decide to paint your new dolls' faces they will be most beautiful of all! I know your talents! :)
As for BJDolls most of their faces are much much bigger than this one so it's just easier to paint them, Not to mention their eyes are ready-to-put-in instead of painting them.;)
Thank you so very much dear Ro! Happy you like it and thank you for encouragement! It does mean a lot!
Hugs and kisses
Thank you Imagine*Mary! I appreciate it!:) :)

Dziękuję za odpowiedź. Ja chyba będę musiała sobie podobną głowę i części sprowadzić. Moje nie chcą być takie ładne. ;)
Kaya doskonale Cię rozumiem! Bałabym się pokazać komukolwiek moje pierwsze koszmarki. ;)
The same to you Carmen! Gracias!
Śliczny makijaż a fryzura zrobiła się bardzo jesienna.
Pozdrawiam Paź
Dzięki serdeczne Paziu Królowej!:)

Wow Ewa, she is a beauty, I really mean it! Her "make-up" is so natural, it suits to her hair and even to the color of the crumbled flowers :D
I wish you a good and healthy 2013!!
Hugs, Ilona
Thank you so much Ilona!:)
I need to do something with these flowers...it's such a pity natural ones are not "for ever".;)
All the best to you and your family for the new year too!
Hugs
Ewa, your make up is par excellence! I agree with everyone on the cheeks and lips. Ok, I have to ask you about the eyes which I can't really tell from the pictures. Did you use green mascara or eye shadow? I love her hair and the flowers make her very park-in-the-autumn chic :):):). No, I mean it, love the flowers in her hair, falling apart petals or not.
By the way, let me tell you you didn't do a terrible job with the other 2 dolls. I clicked on the link and for a moment got a little confused with which doll you painted first. Nell' make up is just right for a bride. For some reason, girls often wear heavier makeup on their wedding days. Maybe for the photo-taking or to match their dresses, I don't know. So I thought Nell doll's make up was realistic as well and definitely glamourous.
Just read your last comment about natural flowers not being forever, they are not??? Shoot! :)
She is a beautiful doll and I think you have done a great job with her makeup. I have done some beginners classes in painting porcelain dolls and I think subtle is best. You can always add to it. I just painted my doll with folk art paints as she was already assembled and her makeup was barely visible. Hope to see more of your dolls in the new year!
:D dear Sam she should have had green iris but this detail is still kind of secret to me..so yes, there is a bit of green seen but not exactly how I meant it,lol.
I remember when I painted her first time I was so excited but when I compared the result with other dolls I saw how hopless the makeup was, lol.
Thank you for your encouragement drea Sam! I do appreciate it!:)
Hugs and kisses
Thank you so much Margaret! Yes, proper painting of these tiny faces are not easy. I am not sure still how much of colour I can use so that the doll would look good with it.:)
Hugs
Oh about these flowers dear Sam:
what I meant is I thought they wouldn't change colour or fall off so quickly...;)Probably I will try to replace them with fake flowers... Besides they were only petals no "twigs" or so..So they couldn't stay forever on her head.;)
Kocham twoje miniatury i twojego sklepu! Naprawdę ładne.
Thank you so much Maria!:) All the best for the New Year!
The makeup seems perfect to me, is very natural, really beautiful.
Take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful New Year, full of achievements and very successfully.
Hugs
Thank you Eliana!
Happy New Year to you too!:)
