First books for Spinner's End...

...which I don't know when I will be building because I have a lot of books to collect before. Truth is I will have to make tons of them myself but since there are great book's makers around I decided to order at least a few.

These books you see on the photo were bought from Ladies Mile Miniatures Etsy Shop. Theresa's got also her own website named the same way. She sells lots of miniatures including books that perfectly fit into 1:12 shelves. These are really simple books but I love the covers which will look perfectly when standing on the shelves.:)
Thank you, Theresa for the books and your kind assistance!

Wow thanks for that link Ewa, those are really beautiful book covers, its nice to have some special ones to leave out on tables etc while you make all the other 'millions' out of easier things like wood and leather plain covers! Have fun making books! Kate xxx

Niesamowite.
Fascynuje mnie jak ludzie robią tak dopracowane miniaturki, niesamowita skala

Thank you for the link, these books are gorgeous. And I think it's totally ok if they are plain and simple inside, at least when you've put them on shelves etc. noone will ever see the pages. Oh, I really can't wait for the tons of books that are about to follow...

Greetings
Birgit

P.S.: You guessed right, there's a very small connection to Poland in my family tree. My father was born in 1940 in Stettin (I looked it up: Szczecin), to be exact in Altdamm (Dabie). My grandfather fell in World War II, my father never got to know him, and my grandma and my dad flew at the end of the war to relatives in Kiel, where my father grew up. My grandma died in 1988 before the fall of the iron curtain, I'm sure she would have loved visiting her hold home town. But my father has no relation or connection - how should he. However, our family name surely refers to that polish roots... ;O)

Are you going to make the house or just a room box Ewa? I agree with Kate, you can make loads of books yourself on a tray in the evenings! ;o)) The goods can be left here and there. :o))

Hi Ewa! Your books are lovely! I have a weakness for books .... especially mini ones! When I finally figure out the right way to MAKE them, I think I will be in heaven! I have plans for making many books for my Castle.... but of course, they have to be VERY old manuscript type of books! Not so easy! If I were you I would be too impatient to start building Spinners End.....! :)

Cieszę się, że Ci się podobają:) ale jak sobie pomyślę ile ich będę musiała zrobić....uch ;)

The Old Maid said...

Thank you so much for this information Brigit - to tell the truth I have never been to Szczecin yet, so maybe some day we will visit it together;)

The Old Maid said...

Happy you like them too Victoria:)

The Old Maid said...

That is why I ordered them catherine ;) We seem to like the same detail in these books:)

This is a great news Caterina! Surely I will wait for it impatiently!:)

The Old Maid said...

Hahaha this is what the evenings will be for, Michelle:) I was thinking about the house but don't really know much about British architecture that would be proper for this house so if I don't find anything interesting and simple to build, it will be probably the roombox - for this I will always find a free place to put when ready;)

The Old Maid said...

You're welcome, Ascension!:)

The Old Maid said...

Oh, I can't wait to see your books, Betsy, knowing your miniworks I know they will be great!:)
As for Spinner's End I have to decide if it is going to be a roombox or a house first ;) And I have two little projects I should make first while collecting all these books and they both are of no connection to HP or wizard's world I am affraid ;)

Ale śliczne książeczki... Zwłaszcza grzbiety tych grubych są rozbrajające;)Sama bym takie ładne przygarnęła, bo tak to jakoś zawsze się dziwnie składa, że książeczek jest za mało;)

Pozdrawiam!!!

The Old Maid said...

NO właśnie tylko dla tych grzbietów je zamówiłam ;) No tak to się jakoś składa, że mini książek nigdy dość ;)Uściski

I love the covers as well! They will look very good in any library! I think eventually, My Maharajah will need some.

But I do quite dislike making books. Very tedious especially if they are readable :)

The Old Maid said...

Your Maharajah probably needs something even more elegant Sans.:) I do like making books, but truth is mine are usually much bigger than 1:12 shelves so eventually they have to be placed around the room on the tables or chairs.;)And since I still don't have a printer I can't make redable books at all.;D
